BMW X6 is a midsize sports activity model, which was introduced in the model year 2008.
It is offered in both sedan and coupe body styles.
The first generation Z6 was a 5-door sedan model offered in four wheel drive.
It was released as a replacement to the X5 model.
First Generation (2008-Present)
Available engines to the X6 model include 3.0 liter twin turbo, 4.4 liter V8, 3.0 liter I-6 diesel and 4.4 liter V8 twin turbo versions. These engines can be mated to either 7-speed automatic or to a 6-speed automatic transmission.
The exterior dimensions of X6 model are almost similar to its predecessor version. It has the wheelbase of 115.5 inches, length of 192.0 inches, width of 77.9 inches and height of 66.8 inches.
The standard features equipped in all the BMW X6 versions include 20 inch alloy wheels, 6-speed M Sports Automatic transmission with aluminum pull style paddles on steering, 4-piston fixed calipers, M Dynamic mode feature, lower adaptive drive suspension and special grilles in the front fenders.
New Active Hybrid X6
X6 Active Hybrid X6 version has been introduced for 2009 that comes powered by Global hybrid powertrain. It went on sale from December, 2009. Power to the vehicle comes from ActiveHybrid X6 version that delivers 407 hp of power and torque of 780 lb ft.
The current generation X6 version also comes along with two diesel engine options, 3.0 liter turbodiesel and 3.5 liter models.
